Radiesse® in Melbourne, FL

Radiesse® is a collagen-stimulating dermal filler treatment for individuals who want to rejuvenate their facial appearance. Essentials Medispa & Salon in Melbourne is led by four-time board-certified physician Dr. Michael Lesser, and provides Radiesse® and other injectables for residents of Orlandoand nearby communities in Central Florida.

What is Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is a dermal filler used for moderate to severe wrinkles, folds, and creases. This injectable triggers production of collagen, thereby increasing volume, fullness, and elasticity by nourishing and supporting skin cells at the structural level. The results include increased firmness and a smoother, more supple texture. By stimulating an increase in collagen production, Radiesse® encourages increased volume, fullness, and elasticity in the skin that continues to improve over a period of several months, gradually producing a smoother and firmer skin tone.

What Makes Radiesse® Unique?

Radiesse® offers specific advantages over other dermal filler injections and may also be used along with other injections to increase benefits and improve results. Since Radiesse® works by stimulating natural collagen production, the condition of your skin will continue to improve over time, and you will see constant, gradual improvement of skin tone for several months. Radiesse® treatments also produce longer lasting results than many other treatments, lasting for up to two years. Some of the Radiesse® advantages include:

  • A smooth gel formula made from natural ingredients
  • Biocompatible ingredients mean very little risk of allergic reaction
  • A simple and quick treatment providing results that last up to two years
  • No downtime or recovery period
  • Immediate visible results followed by continual, gradual improvements over several months

Is Radiesse® Ideal for Me?

While Radiesse® is approved by the FDA and has been determined safe and effective for use in most healthy adults, it may not be ideal for everyone. Our specialist will examine your medical history and note your unique skin conditions to determine whether you are a good candidate for this treatment. Radiesse® is designed for individuals between 35 and 60 years of age who seek non-surgical treatment to diminish the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles, creases and folds, or to restore or increase facial volume. Radiesse® is also recommended to replace lost volume and definition in facial contouring for patients with facial lipoatrophy, a condition that produces loss of fat in the face.

How Should I Prepare for Radiesse®?

Radiesse® is formulated from natural biocompatible ingredients, so allergies and adverse reactions are rare, but please let us know if you have any history of allergies or other medical conditions prior to treatment. Radiesse® treatments should be postponed if you have any infection, inflammation or other skin irritation, or if you have received any other injections recently. You may also need to suspend the use of certain medications temporarily in preparation for a dermal injection treatment.

What Happens During a Radiesse® Treatment?

We will apply an effective local anesthetic to the treatment areas to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. The Radiesse® injections take approximately 15 minutes to an hour to deliver, depending on how many injections you need. Radiesse® is injected directly into the skin by means of a very fine needle and you will see visible results immediately after treatment. But further improvements in your skin’s firmness and volume will continue over the next several months. Lines and creases fade away gradually and naturally, thanks to increased collagen production in your skin cells. In most patients, results may last up to two years.
